Understanding the Healing Process
Understanding the healing timeline helps you know what's normal — and when your final results will be visible. Don't judge your brows until week 6.
Brows appear significantly darker and bolder than your final result. This is completely normal — the pigment sits on the surface layer of skin and looks much more intense in the first 72 hours. Do not be alarmed.
Light flaking and itching begins as the surface layer sheds. Do not pick or peel — this can pull out pigment and cause patchy results. Let the skin shed naturally. Keep brows dry and avoid heavy exercise.
Brows may look significantly lighter or even appear to have disappeared — this is called "ghosting" and is completely normal. The pigment is settling under a new layer of skin. Your color will return.
Pigment begins breaking through the new skin layer. Color gradually returns and strokes become more visible and defined. Brows start looking like your final result — though it's still not fully settled yet.
Full healing is complete. Your brows settle into their final color and shape. This is when your touch-up appointment is scheduled — to refine density, fill any gaps, and lock in your long-lasting result.
